The AA is proud to launch Fleet Intelligence at CCIA 2016
Fleet Intelligence, the AA’s exciting new B2B telematics service, is about to hit the roads on commercial fleets. Aimed at both large fleets and small businesses, Fleet Intelligence is powered by Trakm8 systems and their adaptable dongle.
Trakm8 has been supplier of telematics to the AA for roadside assistance and recovery vehicles for more than four years, bringing considerable operational and economic benefits to the business over that time. In the first year of use the AA saved more than £1m of fuel costs from 3,000 patrol vehicles.
The AA has now developed a new and enhanced fleet management system, which will be offered to its Fleet and SME customers, enabling them to help manage both the cost and logistics of running their fleets.
The system allows individual vehicle data to be tracked, including fuel consumption, driver behaviour and routes taken.
Fleet intelligence from the AA will help fleets by:
• Monitoring fuel consumption
• Checking excessive idling
• Advising on safe speeds
• Detecting crashes
• Helping manage fleet costs and keeps vehicles on the road
• Checking battery before it goes flat hence avoiding downtime
• Saving £££££
• Allowing access to monitoring portal and app.
In addition, the dongle helps to empower and benefit drivers by:
• Monitoring accurate mileage
• Helping to compile expenses
• Checking drivers’ hours
• Warning against excessive driving and falling asleep at wheel
• Protecting against ‘crash for cash’ fraud with optional dashcam from Road Hawk.
Come and visit the AA at the Grab and Go snack bar to find out more about Fleet Intelligence and get a flavour of how it works.

Launching at Company Car in Action 2016, Appy Fleet combines the best features of traditional, hardware-based fleet telematics with the latest smartphone app technology, enabling companies to better manage and monitor the performance of their workforce behind the wheel.
By turning each employee’s smartphone into an accurate GPS data-gathering device and tethering it to their vehicle via Bluetooth, upfront hardware charges and costly downtime for unit installation are completely avoided. What’s more, the Appy Fleet system can be deployed across an entire fleet and workforce almost instantly.
Appy Fleet empowers fleet operators to leverage all of the operational cost savings and accident reduction benefits typically associated with telematics for a significantly lower monthly outlay.
Customers decide how many vehicles they want to track via the Appy Fleet Management Portal, and pay from just £4 per vehicle ‘slot’ per month, with no minimum contract and the ability to add, remove and swap vehicles from those slots as often needed. The Appy Fleet Driver app can be downloaded by as many employees as required, at no additional cost, with the added benefit of driver ID.
Appy Fleet has been designed and developed in the UK by leading telematics solutions provider Trak Global.
