Volvo XC90 T8 Twin Engine
The Volvo XC90 is an innovative seven-seat luxury SUV that sets new standards in comfort, design, intuitive technology and safety. The T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid version features a front-mounted 320hp petrol engine and a rear-mounted 87hp electric motor. This gives it an extraordinary mix of efficiency and power, with CO2 figures of just 49g/km, which results in a BIK tax rating of just 9%. Official combined fuel economy is 134.5mpg. Despite this efficiency, 0-62mph acceleration takes just 5.6 seconds.
The XC90 T8 can be driven on electric power alone for up to 27 miles – enough for most people’s daily commute – so on many journeys it will not emit any exhaust pollutants at all. This allows fleet managers and company car drivers to significantly reduce their environmental impact. The XC90 T8 also qualifies for a 100% first year allowance, ensuring the entire cost of purchase can be written off in the first year of ownership. The XC90 T8’s battery can be fully recharged in as little as two and a half hours using the optional 16-amp fast charge cable.
This mixture of technologies means the XC90 T8 can be a virtually silent zero-emission city car, an astonishingly fast performance SUV, or a reassuring all-wheel-drive companion in challenging conditions, all at the command of the driver.
