CCIA17 | Focus on the future at CCIA Hybrid/EV Review zone
The future face of fleet will be on show at Company Car in Action in a special zone dedicated to new vehicle technology including electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles and ULEVs.
The UKs biggest drive and decide event, held at Millbrook Proving Ground, Bedfordshire, on June 13-14, includes an exclusive EV/Hybrid Review Zone, where managers can discover the energy saving models that will be arriving on their fleet in the coming years.
Experts will be on hand to provide information and advice about the shift to new technologies, covering vital questions including range, running costs, maintenance and driver management.
According to zone sponsor Chargemaster, by 2020 there could be more than 250,000 EV drivers in the UK, which will mean a substantial shift in fleet strategy over the next replacement cycle.
Chargemaster runs Polar, the UK’s biggest public charging network, which links 5,000 public charging points to provide drivers with a nationwide charging system. Fleet News recently reported that before fleets introduce EVs or plug-in hybrids, there are a number of issues they need to consider.
Questions fall into three key categories – the fleet, the driver and the journey and include questions such as ‘Is there support for change?’, ‘How will plug-in vehicles affect my running costs?’, ‘How should I adapt my fleet policy?’ and ‘Should I lease or buy?’.
Answers to all these questions and more will be available at the zone during the two-day show.
